MAGiC to map engineering collection

The use made by engineers of technical report literature is being restricted by the fact that in the UK, collections tend to be scattered across academia, government and industry.

One of the primary aims of the Managing Access to Grey Literature (MAGiC) project is to enhance the visibility of these information resources nationally, by identifying the location of important report collections. The MAGiC project, based at Cranfield University, is currently asking the UK engineering community for information on the whereabouts of engineering report collections and archives.

The survey will be used to inform the creation of a national reports database. Further details of the research can be found on the MAGiC web site (www.magic.ac.uk) or email Paul Needham (p.a.s.needham@ntlworld.com).
