Producers survey
Holdings survey

One important aspect of the MAGiC project is an investigation into the into the locations of key collections of engineering technical reports series in the UK. Apart from the substantial holdings of the British Library Document Supply Centre (BLDSC), other major collections of technical reports tend to be scattered across academia, government and industry. These resources are difficult to identify, locate and access. The information we gather will be used to lay the foundations of a National Reports Catalogue. The catalogue will act effectively as a "shop window" for engineering organisations and raise awareness, visibility and use of technical reports in the UK.

This questionnaire is aimed specifically at stock librarians, information officers and others involved in the acquisition, management and use of technical reports in the UK.

The management of reports literature is a complex issue. You may find that some questions are not relevant to you, or, for various reasons, there are others you are unable to answer. If this is so, please answer those questions you can and return the questionnaire to us anyway. A partially completed questionnaire is more useful than none at all. Alternatively, if you prefer to discuss this with us further, please contact John Harrington or Katy Sidwell on 01234 754451.
